8 Great Reasons
'Eight Great Reasons' started life as a marketing campaign in 2007 and has simply stuck. We believe it sums up everything that sets us apart from our competitors.
It's all about our passion for bringing the best and the newest Fairtrade, ethical and organic products to our customers in the foodservice sector. We have not only looked at established suppliers but have worked with innovative newcomers whose passion for their products has been commercially realised through working Peros. Our customers have grown to expect interesting and innovative ideas from our team.
For example, even before Peros was created, we were serving Café Direct coffee to all the Government establishments in Victoria Street, London. This starting point became the obvious route to the foodservice market for Café Direct who were keen to extend their retail business into this new sector. Today, thanks to Peros, foodservice represents more than 22% of Café Direct's total business.
Another example of our innovation came in 2005 when we met Duncan Goose who had just successfully launched One Water at Live8. Within days of our meeting we had received our first delivery of One Water and despatched these to our customers. Since that time, with the help of our customers who have become as passionate as we are about the scheme, we have been able to fund more than 50 PlayPump wells bringing fresh water to communities across Africa.
